Members of 24 countries gathered in the Association of American Chambers of Commerce of Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA), concluded in Managua with the most important business meeting, Business Future of the Americas 2017.
Álvaro Rodríguez, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Nicaragua (AMCHAM), explained during the inauguration that this historic event takes place 43 years after Amcham was founded in Nicaragua.
The United States Ambassador to Nicaragua, Laura F. Dogu, valued as positive, the impact of this annual meeting, especially to raise awareness of the country's progress in recent years. "This is an opportunity for Nicaragua. We believe that Nicaragua has changed a lot in recent years and that there are opportunities for investors here," she said.
The Presidential Delegate for Investment, General Alvaro Baltodano, along with INCAE President, Enrique Bolaños Abaunza, and business innovator Jose Antonio Baltodano, led the first panel: Nicaragua: Opportunities and Challenges.
During the closing of the event, the President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, after personally greeting all participants, delivered his message on integration. "We have been advancing in this world towards Integration processes. There is economic trade, Bilateral and Multilateral Agreements, and with all the questioning that we can think of and do, humanity has been advancing in what we call ´globalization.´ We have been advancing and we have been able to meet Goals that have to do with the eradication of Poverty, the eradication of Hunger. They are the great goals we have, which all the Countries of the World are committed to" successfully closing this important business event.
